Youth Auditions

What to Expect at Arts Education Auditions

Are you ready to take your first steps onto the stage? Trinity Theatre Company is thrilled to offer auditions for performers ages 6-18 who want to explore the exciting world of theater! Our goal is to make the audition process fun, welcoming, and encouraging. Here’s everything you need to know to prepare for your audition with us.

What Are Trinity Theatre Youth Auditions Like?

Auditioning can feel a little nerve-wracking, but our team is here to help make it an exciting experience! We create a friendly environment where you can share your talents and express yourself. Here’s what you can expect when you audition:

1. What are auditions?

Auditions are the time when actors get to show the directors what they are capable of! All actors who are enrolled in the show are cast. At Trinity Theatre, we run auditions similarly to a call back. The directors of the show teach songs, dances, and scenes during the audition, and actors perform in small groups or as solos. This allows our team to see each actor’s personality and abilities.

2. Audition Materials

Prior to auditions, we will send a link to the audition rehearsal website which will have the songs and some of the scenes that the directors will look at during the auditions. While actors are welcome to practice beforehand, it is not necessary.

4. Tips for a Great Youth Audition

  • Be Yourself: We want to see you! Show us your personality and don’t be afraid to let it shine.
  • Practice at Home: If you’re preparing a monologue or song, practice at home or with a friend. The more you practice, the more confident you’ll feel.
  • Research the Show: Knowing a bit about the play or musical you’re auditioning for can help you connect with the characters.
  • Warm Up: Take a few minutes to stretch, shake out your nerves, and warm up your voice. Being ready to jump in will help you feel more comfortable.
  • Have Fun!: Auditions are about exploring and learning, so take a deep breath and enjoy every moment.

5. After Your Audition

Once your audition is over, our team works to cast the show. Every actor who is registered for a show is cast!
