Request for Proposals: Passion Projects

Trinity Theatre Company invites individual theatre artists to submit proposals for new or existing projects to be produced in our theatre facility that bring them excitement and passion. which bring them personal excitement and enthusiasm. We seek creative, innovative, and diverse works that align with our mission to foster artistic excellence and community engagement. Passion Projects offer creatives the chance to bring their “dream show” to the stage without many logistical worries. In short: You do the show; we’ll handle the business.

While we can’t accept every submission, it is our hope to welcome all those wishing to participate in a manner that honors Trinity’s Mission, Vision, and Values

VISION: Trinity Theatre Company (TTC) presents renders productions of great societal value in hopes of unifying friends, family, and community. TTC believes all individuals wishing to participate in the performing arts should have a venue in which they inspire and are inspired. Our shows merge the talents of seasoned performers as well as spirited newcomers, jointly engaged in both performance and technical aspects of theatre.

Proposal Guidelines:

  • Eligibility: This RFP is open to individual theatre artists, including playwrights, directors, actors, and performance creators. Projects can be in any stage of development.
  • Project Scope: We welcome a range of performance types, including plays, musicals, solo performances, staged readings, and experimental works.
  • Facility Use: Selected projects will have access to our performance space, technical equipment, and marketing support. Artists will be responsible for casting, rehearsals, and any production needs beyond what we provide. production needs beyond our facility and equipment.

Submission Requirements:

  • Project Description: A brief overview of your project, including its theme, objectives, and intended audience.
  • Creative Team: List of key artists involved (if applicable) and their roles in the production. 
  • Production Plan: Timeline for development, rehearsal, and performance dates, along with any specific technical or space needs.
    • Priority will be given to those needing a performance space, but have the capability of procuring their own rehearsal facilities
    • While weekend performances are preferred, they are also the most competitive. Weekday or daytime performances may increase the likelihood of acceptance.While we know weekend performances are ideal, they are also the most competitive. If you can do week day performances (or even day time performances), there is a more likely chance your project will be accepted.
  • Budget: A preliminary budget for your project, including any funding or box office revenue models.
  • Generally accepted financial models include:
    • Box Office Profit Split
    • Flat rental rates
  • Artist Statement: Explain how this project aligns with your artistic vision and what impact you hope to make through this production.

 Deadlines and Selection:

  • Submission Deadline: Rolling Deadline. Submit at your convenience.
  • Notification: Applicants being considered will be invited to interview with the TriniTeam.
