Unlock your full vocal potential in this one-day Linklater Voice Workshop designed for actors, performers, and anyone seeking greater vocal freedom to help you discover the variety and hidden potential of your natural voice. Led by Debra Hale, a certified Linklater and Viniyoga teacher, this experiential workshop blends physical movement, imagination, and voice to help you discover the full range and resonance of your natural voice.

What to Expect

Bring Your Own Text:
Each participant will work with a short monologue or poem of their choice throughout the day. This personal connection to the text allows for deeper vocal exploration.

Warm-Up & Connection:
We’ll begin with a playful introductory game and gentle yoga-based alignment exercises to awaken the spine, breath, and diaphragm. These mindful movements will set the tone for a day of discovery and connection.

Linklater Voice Work in Action:
With a focus on breath, sound, and vibration, we’ll explore Kristin Linklater’s foundational voice techniques. Exercises will target:

  • Free Alignment and access to breath

  • Creating sound freeing the lips, head/neck and torso

  • Work on the tongue and soft palate to open the throat

  • Identifying and reducing vocal tension

You’ll learn how physical blocks affect your voice—and how to release them.

Text Integration Throughout the Day:
As your voice becomes more liberated, you’ll apply these techniques to your chosen text. See and hear how your vocal delivery changes with shifts in energy, intention, and emotional connection. Activities include solo, partner, and group work.

Afternoon Deep Dive:
Following a 30-minute lunch break, we’ll continue with dynamic work focusing on:

  • Practicing high energy sound and filling the room with your voice
